Beta note

No payment information is required during private beta. The tiers below reflect the membership structure Perkins is being designed around; checkout and paid access should come only when the Reading loop is ready.

The Meridian Principle

Membership should reward revision.

The goal is greater confidence in your writing ability, improved novel structure, and more opportunities to succeed in the future. The tiers are not badges. They are different amounts of editorial infrastructure.

Ask Perkins

Which membership fits my writing life?

Tell Perkins how you work: solo novel, workshop, editor/client work, agency team, budget concerns, collaborators, or how many manuscripts you juggle.

Perkins would start here

Writer

Best for a solo novelist who wants a serious Desk, private editorial history, and focused Readings without collaboration overhead.

If you are unsure, start with the simplest membership. Perkins should grow only when your editorial life actually needs more structure.

How access works

Four simple stages.

01

Open an Editorial Desk

Create the account and set up the writer-facing details you want Perkins to use. A real name is not required on your public Desk view.

02

Wait for Reading access

During private beta, you can use your Editorial Desk while the Editorial Office reviews access to manuscript Readings.

03

Bring a manuscript session by session

Perkins reads only the text you submit for that Reading. Manuscript files are purged after analysis.

04

Return to the Desk

Perkins’ Letters, Writing Prompts, Studio writing, and project context stay organized for revision.

Enterprise

Editorial infrastructure, built around your organization.

For agencies, publishers, schools, and editorial teams that need custom workflows, shared timelines, multiple editors and authors, in-flow commentary, integrated dashboards, and dedicated implementation.

Operating principles

Membership should make the writer feel safer, not trapped.

No payment friction in beta

No credit card is collected for private beta access while the Reading loop is being proven.

Membership is access, not status

The point is not prestige or gamification. It is a stable editorial relationship.

The writer keeps authorship

Perkins gives critique, craft pressure, and structure. It does not write the manuscript.

Manuscript privacy stays central

The system preserves the editorial record, not the manuscript itself.

Ready

Begin with a Desk. Payment can wait.

The first job is to prove that Perkins helps writers understand their work, deepen their craft, and return to revision with more authority.
